The One Night We Shared at the Comfort Inn

There is this little high yellow, bald headed friend that I have. His name is Jayden. He is about 2 feet tall, weighs about 3 pounds, and houses about three outfits in his wardrobe. He has been my friend for decades and he will be my friend forever. Everyone, meet Jayden.

Jayden is my 80’s baby….my ride or die. He has been holding down my flying anxiety for as far as I can remember now. As well as holding down his flyness as well, as you can see. I have been traveling since the delicate age of six months and it wasn’t until I was about 12 or 13 when the fear of flying suddenly took over me. Now, I know what you’re probably thinking, how do I have fears in regards to flying and I fly just about every month?? Jayden is my safety blanket! He is essentially one of my travel essentials.

Of course Jayden is only ONE of my travel essentials. There are so many other quintessentials that lend themselves to providing you with a seamless and enjoyable travel experience. You must of course stay at the comfort inn while traveling….meaning head to your destinations in comfort and style. From your fit to your necessities, even those little things that you don’t really need, shall all be in style and grace!

Here are a few must-packs and personal recommendations for the dopest of what you need….such as skin care, identity protection and of course Yeezys, as these are the most comfortable of sneakers….whether you love or hate Mr. West.

Literature

What is travel without a great text to engage in? I mean, what is life without a great text to engage in?? Although a book should always be in your repertoire, some of us do not have the luxury of OCD time management to fit reading into our normal routine. Read my post on organizing your schedule here to get some pointers on that :D Reading can definitely be included during your travel time. Here are a few current reads as suggestions.

Comfy and Stylish Travel Fits

Comfort nor style should be sacrificed while traveling! Your booty shall be flexi, free and fly in these highly coveted outfits!

Travel Pillows

Neck woes be gone with these comfort providing pillows. Depending on your needs, each one provides you with a different feel and support. Some even provide a bit of privacy for your intimate needs.

Skin Care

THEM: Ohhh child, did you just come off of a flight looking like that???

ME: Yes, indeed I did.

THEM: But you look like you just walked out of the spa from having a facial.

ME: It’s my travel skin routine huntyyyyyyyyyyy. Get you one!

The cleansing and moisturizing of your skin after you board are often overlooked. Steps to cleaning your face, eliminating under eye puffiness and dryness are small things that get you righteously prancing off of the plane.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Cleansers are a good cleaning agent and makeup remover. The moisturizer by Clinique provides hydration to even the driest of skin. Finally, the Osea Minerals Mist is cool and refreshing and provides soothing and anti-inflammatory properties that calm general skin congestion from airplanes.

Luggage Tags

No one obviously has time to be sorting through bags and bags of luggage for their personal items. Hence the importance of luggage tags. Not only do they set your luggage apart, they identify your luggage in the event of a tragic mishap and the intelligent people of TSA lose or misplace your belongings. Here are a few to tag your bags up for yourself.

Eye Masks

Our eyes are more sensitive than we even know. They provide us with the gateway to observance and the gathering of information. This seems rather important to me. So is my sleep though, which also relates in some ways to my eyes, hehehe. The best sleep for me is when it is pitch black. That usually never happens on an airplane, peace and quiet either, that’s why I’ve included ear plugs below. Back to the eyes though. Ever since I started to wear an eye mask on the plane, my plane sleep has gone from 0 to 100 real quick. I suggest you give it a try if you’re a plane dozer.

Toiletries

There have been a number of times where I have seen ladies toiletries all over their bags and suitcases. Don’t be that girl. Get you a toiletry bag, and a cute one at that!

Passport Holders

Keeping your identity as you travel, and I would say at all times, lol, is an important aspect of life. Especially when we are moving around with our passport. Yes, a passport case is cute, yet we need deeper protection. I have included a case and a bag that provide that protection from those little alien identity thieves.

Luggage Pieces

I mean who doesn’t love a cute luggage piece? One to call your own and shout out your personality. Here are a few that may speak your name.

International Travel Needs

There are some items that we need specific to international travel. If you’re going to be sitting in an airplane seat for longer than four hours, you may want to change into a pair of compression socks to aid circulation in your legs. This will keep your feet from falling asleep and help to prevent more serious symptoms such as blood clots. A universal adapter is also needed to charge your technological devices that we need ohhhh so much.

Preference-Specific Additionals

In my search for dope travel essentials, I came across a few cool pieces. A few items that we may not need, yet may want to enhance our travel experiences. I always travel with a scarf or wrap because I am a freeze ball. I haven’t tried any of the other yet though, but I am so excited to try out the undergarments travel organizer! Let me know if you have used any of the items below or purchase something from suggestions.

Whether you’re packing a tote bag, book bag or fleshed-out suitcase, it is what you personally need that counts. Focus on your needs and creating a seamless airport, airplane and traveling experience that will provide you with whatever it is that you may need.

If you check your luggage or even only have a carryon, I suggest that you also have your passport, charger, tiny toiletries, undies and a change of outfit, just in case TSA has an oopsie. Travel in peace, comfort and style, all of course while being,

Unapologetically YOU!

Unapologetically Me. Unapologetically You. Unapologetically Us.
